FAQs

  • Why is it called Short North?

In the 1960s and 1970s, the neighborhood was in decline and the local police dubbed it the Short North because the area had just "fallen short" of the city's northern central business district physically as well as economically. The Short North experienced a cultural renaissance beginning in the 1980s and is now one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Columbus.
